HFD Strategy Toolbox
The HFD Strategy Toolbox bundles the results and findings of the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung’s activities in the area of strategy development. University administrators and strategic designers will find various materials for reflecting on strategy processes here..
Successful strategic engagement with the digitization of teaching and learning at universities depends on many individual factors, such as the respective university and subject culture. However, the experience of peer-to-peer strategy consulting shows that, despite individual differences, most universities face similar challenges. This relates primarily to the design of the strategy process itself, for example in terms of participation formats, or questions of the organization in terms of operationalization, such as the design of support structures and incentives. With the following tools and materials, we would like to support you in your strategy processes and offer orientation.
Together with the HFD community, we have fields of action that provide a framework for the strategic development of teaching and learning along the dimensions of strategy, structure, and culture.
The strategy benchmarking tool supports universities in ascertaining the current state and provides orientation in the individual strategy process. Using Germany-wide comparative data, the tool shows development opportunities for the respective university.
The database of practical examples collects good practice examples of digital university teaching from Germany under strategic, structural and cultural objectives. The database was set up in cooperation with the Institute for Technical Education and University Didactics (TU Hamburg).
